Leave of Absence Policy

A Leave of Absence (LOA) is a temporary separation from the College during which students are not considered to be working toward their degree and are not enrolled in coursework. LOAs accommodate students experiencing circumstances that significantly affect their ability to participate fully in the requirements of the degree program.
General Requirements:
• Students must request LOA in writing using the Leave of Absence Request Form
• LOAs extending beyond 42 consecutive days (6 weeks) require formal approval from the Associate Dean of Student Affairs
• Students on LOA longer than 180 days will be withdrawn from coursework and must repeat the semester/year upon return
• All students must complete the checkout process as outlined in the Withdrawal Policy
