SMS Terms & Conditions
Effective date: August 20, 2026
These terms apply to one-to-one SMS communications sent or received through Microsoft Teams by Noorda COM employees. The service is not used for promotional campaigns, mass messaging, automated alerts, or API-driven messaging.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By opting in to, initiating, or continuing an SMS conversation with Noorda COM, you agree to these SMS Terms and Conditions. These terms apply only to SMS communications associated with the phone number involved in the conversation.
2. Description of the SMS Service
Noorda COM uses Microsoft Teams SMS for direct, one-to-one communications with students, applicants, employees, vendors, and other individuals interacting with the college. Messages may relate to an inquiry, request, scheduling matter, support need, administrative matter, educational activity, or other interaction with the college.
3. Consent and Opt-In
You may consent to SMS communications by providing your phone number to Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine, LLC, requesting or initiating a text conversation, replying to a Noorda COM message, or otherwise agreeing to communicate by text. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.
4. Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on the nature and duration of the conversation. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier and service plan. Noorda COM does not charge a separate fee for the SMS service.
5. Opt-Out and Resubscription
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to the number sending the message. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent from that number unless you reply START or provide consent again. Opting out of one Noorda COM number may not automatically opt you out of a separate conversation from another number when separate consent exists.
6. Help
Reply HELP for assistance. You may also contact Noorda COM IT at helpdesk@noorda.edu.
7. Permitted Use and Recipient Responsibilities
The SMS service is intended for legitimate college-related communications. Recipients should not use the service to send unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, threatening, or otherwise prohibited content. Recipients are responsible for maintaining control of the device and phone number used for SMS communications.
8. Delivery and Availability
Message delivery is subject to carrier availability, network conditions, device compatibility, and other factors outside Noorda COM’s control. Delivery is not guaranteed, and SMS should not be relied upon as the sole method for urgent or emergency communications. For emergencies, call 911 or the appropriate emergency service.
9. Privacy
Information collected or processed through SMS is handled according to the Noorda COM SMS Privacy Statement. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information are not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information may be processed by Microsoft, telecommunications carriers, and service providers as necessary to deliver, secure, support, and administer the SMS service.
